What a busy week we had last week with our inter club competitions! Both ladies and gents had some success and some misfortune but well done to everyone involved, there were some close encounters and playoff holes needed which is always testing on the nerves. Hard luck to those teams that lost out and good luck to those who are still fighting, one match and one shot at a time!
Good luck also to Naas member Maurice Kelly who represents Ireland and GB and I in the Concession Cup at Concession GC USA. He is joined by Adrian Morrow, Garth McGimpsey and Arthur Pierce. It is a special honour as the honorary team captains are Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin. Another of our internationals, Jack Hume is playing again this week. This time in the Lytham Trophy at Royal Lytham and St.Annes. Jack was beaten in a playoff for this title last year and I know he is looking forward to getting back there after his win in the West Of Ireland last week and he asked me to pass on his thanks to everyone for all the support and well wishes he received. We wish our teams and individuals all the very best of luck!
We have a few offers that may be of interest to you. Callaway are sponsoring a free X Hot stand bag with any purchase of xhot or xhot pro iron sets. The new X Hot irons are not just forgiving but exceptionally long! Please let me know if you would like to try out any of the Callaway range or if you would like me to organise a fitting.

With the slightly warmer weather the rough is up the greens are picking up pace and we are back to playing the ball as it lies. You may notice over the coming weeks that the course played a little more difficult and some of your errors become more obvious to you. I recommend that you make a note of any consistencies in where you are throwing shots away and address them before the "major" season starts. In particular note how many fairways you are hitting and how many 3 putts you are taking. These are the most common areas where shots are lost and remember the driver is not always the best option! As always, we are on hand to help you to play better!
In the meantime enjoy your golf!
