Naas Golf Club PGA Golf Professional
As you read this I'm sure many of you are worn out from all the golf you played last week during Open week which has become of a "festival of golf".
It was great to see so many members and visitors during the week and the weather was kind over all. Thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers who helped out during the week and added hugely to the success that it is. For the men at least there'll be no resting on laurels as Dave Smyths Captain's prize is all to play for at the end of the month.
On Thursday, 11 August we have a PING fitting night at the studio.
There are a few places still available and if you would like to reserve a place please click here.
The new PING iBlade is now launched and will be available on the night. It is also worth noting that PING have offered a Glide wedge at 50% OFF with any set that is purchased on the night only.
So if you are in the market for a new set of G, i, E or G Max irons keep this in mind as it is a great offer.
One place has become available on our Short Game Masterclass. The class is on Saturday, 20 August from 9am to 2.30pm.
The class includes coaching in the areas of chipping, pitching, bunker play, putting and AimPoint green reading.
The class is €150 for visitors/ €130 for members and lunch and practice plans are included.
If you would like to book your place please click here or contact me for more details.
Congratulations and best of luck to Conor O'Rourke who represents Ireland this week at the Home International matches in Nairn, Scotland. Best of luck also to Jack Hume who is the only Irish representative playing at the US Amateur in Oakland Hills Detroit USA starting next Monday.
Many of you will remember Oakland Hills as it was not only the venue for the Ryder Cup but also the scene of Padraig Harringtons USPGA Championship victory. Hopefully he left a little luck behind for the Irish!
There are also many of our Junior Golfers playing in the Munster, Ulster and Kerry Boys over the next couple of weeks and we wish them all the very best. It was great to see 6 of our members playing in the Leinster over 30s championship recently in Carlow where 4 of them made the cut. Great to see the club being represented so well at all levels. Well done, Larry Long, Gus Fitzpatrick jnr, Richard Williams, Warren Kelly, Mark Duffy and Rob Fitzpatrick.

There's always going to be an element of luck with any hole-in-one, but this is something else! Sadly for Thomas Bjørn, it won't go down as a competitive ace.. Still… worth a watch.
I hope you enjoyed reading the articles, and that you have a great weekend.
