The Ryder Cup has finally gone to the United States for the first time since 2008 when it was played in Valhalla. Although we are all disappointed, I think the long term benefits will be there for the tournament and the 2018 Ryder Cup in Paris will be a great event.
The summer season is slowly drawing to a close but we still have a few weeks before the clocks go back and the temperatures drop low.
How has your season been for you?
Did you achieve all that you set out to achieve in 2016?
Getting more from your game is all about planning and working on the right things over the winter. Time is precious for all of us and even more important is HOW we spend that time. I have achieved some great success with golfers recently by showing them HOW to practice more effectively and research has shown that HOW we spend our practice time, rather than how much time we apply, represents the real key to playing better golf!
The Golf Academy has lots of different programs and ways in which we can help you play better golf. Effective coaching should cover all parts of your game and include some time on the course, after all that is where we want to play our best!
Our coaching studio not only offers you the best in coaching and club fitting technology but we also provide time in our studio for you to practice and use the technology to gain valuable feedback. Packages are available for hour and half hour tuition on all aspects of your game, we have upcoming classes that are available and we will keep you informed about over the autumn and winter.
Current Junior Golf Classes:
- Tuesdays 5.30-6.30pm
- Saturdays 2-3 and 3-4pm
Naas GC Junior Academy Winter Camp:
As the winter approaches keep in mind we have some time available in our Coaching Bay for you to book. Reserve for your own practice time or to use the simulator to hone your game on Torrey Pines, Gleneagles, Beth Page, The Belfry and many other well known courses. All the statistics you compile can be gathered and sent to your email address after each session.
Times are somewhat restricted but we will do our best to facilitate a suitable time for you. As always, shop credit, vouchers and 2s can be used for this facility. Please contact me by clicking here for more details or to book some time.
PING Driver Challenge- Win a FREE PING Driver!
You may have seen some of our signage around the clubhouse but throughout October we are running a PING Driver Challenge. All you have to do is pop in to our studio and hit three shots with your own driver, of course you are allowed to warm up!
We take the best of your three drives and if we can beat your best using the large array of options we have in the PING G series or Rhapsody range then you will be entered in to a draw for that same PING Driver custom fit to your specifications!
The draw will take place in the clubhouse on Thursday, 3 November.... Best of luck!!
Jack Hume
The sun has set on the Amateur Career of our own Jack Hume but a new day dawns in the professional ranks and I am pleased to say that he will be making his debut as a professional at the Alfred Dunhill Links Tournament this week in Scotland.
Jack's success has been a huge inspiration to our junior members and given us all great pride as he represented Naas on the fairways of international competition. I am sure you will join me in wishing him all the very best of luck and success as he now represents us in the paid ranks of professional golf. Jack will be managed by ISM and will continue to play the PING brand that has served him well in his amateur days. I have no doubt he will not be a stranger to the club and will continue to practice and play at Naas and I know he will be a great supporter in the coming years to our juniors and to our club.
Here are a few highlights of his amateur career:
- Leinster, Ulster, Connaught and Munster Boys Champion
- Leinster and Ireland Boys Team
- West of Ireland Champion
- Leinster and Ireland Senior International
- South African Open Champion
- European Nations Cup Champion
- Long Island Amateur Champion
- 2015 Walker Cup (GB and I v U.S)
- 2016 St Andrews Trophy Team (GB and I v Europe)
- 2016 Bonnallack Trophy Team (Europe v Asia)
