World of sport

Last weekends Rugby was frustrating to watch and at the same time a lesson learned in complacency and never to over look your opponents abilities.

As golfers, form can of course come and go and maintaining good form over a season depends so much on squeezing everything you can out of every single round. Consistency in your scores won't come from playing the same way every time but rather playing to your strengths on a given day. A lot of the time that means knuckling down, working hard on every shot and recognising that there is always something positive to be taken from every round.

Also, like Ireland in the rugby, taking nothing for granted no matter how good your form is. Even if it is the last shot you play after a rough day you can take either your determination or a great shot with you to the next days play.

On the fairways last weekend Sergio dominated the Desert Classic and how many times have we seen him go through peaks and troughs, the message has to be to keep grinding no matter what!

The challenge in golf is not to be a great ball striker or driver or bunker player but to constantly work and being better at everything and to recognise that inconsistency is part of the game, it's how we deal with it that separates the performers.

MOT your Game

There is no bad time to replace worn out grips but this time of year is when spring is in the air and we often look towards our game, equipment and start making plans for the coming season.

We have a special offer on re-grips from now until the end of February where you can get 25% OFF on 5 or more regrips.

Select grips apply.

Pop into store this week for your re-grip.

This months poll

The votes have been counted and verified…

Each month we run a poll on our website which is focused around the hottest topics in the golfing world. In January we asked you to cast your vote as to who you think will end 2017 as the World Number one. We were expecting a close contest between Day, Dustin and McIlroy to name but a few, but this was far from what we got. In the end Rory McIlroy was your overwhelming favourite to end 2017 as the world’s best player with 48% of the vote – that’s nearly three times as much as second-placed Dustin Johnson!

For February we have something a little different lined up for you. You’ll be well aware that new product for 2017 has been sweeping through the gates and onto the shelves here in the shop in recent weeks, but we want to know which of these releases has got you most excited.
