Many thanks to those you who were able to make the putter fitting night this Tuesday! There were some interesting fittings but the overriding message was that no one was using a putter with the correct balance for their particular stroke type, this makes holing putts, consistently, almost impossible. You will subconsciously make a compensation for any error caused by the putter and this leads to a vicious circle of frustration. The good news is that this won't be the last time I run one of these nights and I will keep you posted of future dates in the newsletter. As always you can book a putter fitting at any time, if you would like to have a putter fitting session please click here.
Well done to our Ladies Senior Foursomes, Finn trophy and Men's Jimmy Bruen teams who all had great results over the past few days and good luck in the next rounds. It has been a good start to the year for many of our club teams which is great to see. Please support where and when you can!
US Open starts this week, who will win only time will tell but we are all hoping for another Irish winner of a major! Traditionally the US Open is a test of a players ability tee to green but with the upturned saucer greens at Pinehurst and the severely sloping run off areas it will take a very good short game to win this years championship. Look out for plenty of chip and run shots and even the odd rescue club to be used around the greens, a shot we have talked about many times in our newsletter.
The evenings are almost at there peak now, no excuses for not getting out and playing a few holes! I look forward to seeing you out there.
