Why not make 2017 your best year on the fairways? Why not exactly, I guess we all have to answer that question and I'm sure as the seasons rolls forward many of you will adddress that question but for now and for those of you who have decided that this will be a successful golfing year it all starts with planning so here are a few ideas!
1) Decide what part of the game is holding you back the most, and be honest! It may be that you are inconsistent with your striking or that your accuracy is not what it once was. You may find yourself getting bogged down or frustrated on the course and need a change of approach to the mental challenges on the course. Whatever it is find the answers and go to work on it.
2) Find time! Isn't it amazing how much time we can find when we really WANT something! If we want to loose weight or we are starting a new business or we want to run a marathon or just start jogging when we want to we can find the time. Even for the most busy of us we can find 10 minutes every day to do something that gets us closer to our goal.
3) Make mistakes! Mistakes are the greatest learning tools available. Without them we can't learn, it's called a growth mindset! For example, if you are working on your chipping, see mistakes as opportunities to analyse, make the necessary changes and try another shot. Look to get just a little bit better with every practise session and be constructive in your analysis.
Although we are still in the latter stages of our winter/early stages of spring, the weather is still a little cold and damp. We have some great bargains in warm weather clothing and waterproof golf bags as well as the new range of FootJoy and Skechers waterproof golf shoes.
There are a few places available for our Callaway fitting night on Thursday! Check out the new Epic driver as used by Rory McIlroy or the new Steelhead irons which have been getting great reviews in both distance and accuracy in recent golf magazine issues.
We also have the new range of Cleveland wedges, still the most used wedge on Tour and we are offering a discount on purchasing two wedges and includes a fitting session.
Don't forget with ALL custom irons, wedges, drivers and fairway wood fittings we are offering a complimentary distance and gapping session once you have received your new clubs. This is a 45 minute to 1 hour session where we will analyse your distances using our TrackMan technology, throughout your set and send you a report via email.
Knowing your distances can save you strokes! We have had some great feedback on the benefits of having this done so if you are interested in a new set of irons, remember this is all part of our service to you and if not this service is also available using your current set. The cost is €50 and an appointment can be made by clicking here or contacting the pro shop.
On Wednesday, 5 April between 10am to 11am I will be hosting Ladies on course lessons on our new holes over 3 weeks. The cost is €60 and our focus will be on some of the challenging shots that our new layout will have for us. There is only one place remaining so if you would like to book your place please click here or contact the pro shop.
I hope you enjoyed reading the articles, and that you have a great weekend.
