A belated Happy Mothers Day to all ladies who were deservedly spoilt last Sunday! What a great day as well with the weather finally showing some signs of what may be to come this summer. Alas the azaleas at Augusta are no doubt in full bloom and next week its Masters time!! The first major of the year gets everyone talking golf and the a sense that the season is in full flow.

Congratulations to Majella Jones who won last weeks PGA Tankard and the first 18 hole singles competition of the year. I look forward to playing with Majella in the finals along with the mens winner who will be decided after the mens PGA Tankard in June. Thank you to all the ladies who attended the short talk I did after the presentation on mindsets and playing under pressure. It was great to be asked back to do a second presentation and I hope everyone takes something away that will help them this season.

 

A big Naas Golf Club welcome to our new Assistant Professional Jack Ahearne. Jack hails from Tipperary and will be asisting myself and Brian with member services as well as junior coaching and custom fitting. 

Jack will be joining the PGA in September and is delighted to be joining the team at Naas Golf Club. 

"Im really looking forward to working with Gavin and Brian and the members of Naas, it is great to be part of such a busy vibrant club".


 

There is one place remaining in my 3 week ladies on course lessons class starting next wedensday at 10am. We will be going to some of our new holes and looking at ways to get around those elevated greens and high lip bunkers that are now a feature of the new greens and surrounds.

Last weekend we had a very succesful short game class and our next class is a long game class on the 6th of May between 10-1pm, the class includes lunch and golf balls at the range. We will be talking about how to get the most from technology and in particular TrackMan, on course psycology, and what is important in the golf swing. 

There are 5 places available and each participant will recieve a follow up complimentary distance session wher you can use our TrackMan technology to acurately assess your distances and get more from your game!
