Golf courses average between 6,500 and 6,800 yards. For argument’s sake, let’s split that down the middle at 6,650 yards, which means you would cover 3.78 miles (6.08km if you prefer) if you walked in a straight line.

However, factors such as the distance from green to tees, your ability, and how often you're searching for lost balls all come into play. So, in most cases, you can expect to walk between 50 and 70% further than the yardage length of the course!
