It certainly did not feel like a normal Masters Tournament but I'm sure we all agree that Dustin Johnston was a worthy winner with a record breaking 20 under par total. For the punters out there he may have been an obvious choice as he is world no.1 and very much a man in form over the year. Soft ground and his length off the tee were no doubt a major advantage. Bryson as predicted, spent much time in the trees and it was fantastic to see Berhard Langer beat him head to head giving away over 100 yards in distance off the tee. It all made for another great Masters story.
Apart from DJs win, one of my personal takeaways was Tigers response to his 10 on the par 3 12th. I am fortunate enough to say that I have played Augusta and yes it is everything and more! The 12th hole has been untouched over the years and rightly so as it is the best example of a great short hole design. The wind swirls and changes direction in that corner of the property, possibly a harder scenario with a short iron in hand and the green is very narrow. Tiger's response by making birdie on 5 of the last 6 holes was a great example to any young (or experienced) golfer. It showed his pride as a golfer and ability to dig deep when times are tough!
