What a great weekend of sport with the Irish Men's and Ladies teams winning their respective six nations championships. Rugby certainly has taken the country by storm over the past number of years and hopefully we can sustain our level of success. I have no doubt that we will as the numbers playing rugby are on a continuous rise and the standard of coaching continues to set new standards all the time.
I have been fortunate enough to speak with some of those involved in the international rugby scene and I was fascinated to listen to how "decision training" is such a huge part of modern rugby coaching. When applied to our own game of golf, it is similar to presenting yourself with different challenges on every shot in practise.
Performance is a reflection of how you practice so reinacting different situations around the pitching green for example and only giving yourself one opportunity to get a ball up and down would be an excellent way of improving your performances on the course. I am still amazed when I see golfers hitting dozens of shots to the same flag over and over again. "Decision practise" forces you to adapt and make a fresh decision much like what happens on the course......no two shots are the same.

Don't forget all our offers, as I mentioned in last week's newsletter. Ex demos are all priced and available for sale, Srixon Zstar dozen boxes are reduced from €50 to €39.99 and selected golf bags 30% off in March!
Jack Hume finished tied 6th in Argentina, with his team mate and fellow walker cup panelist Gary Hurley finishing tied 8th. A solid showing by them both despite 34 degree temperatures! They have another outing next week in Argentina and then Jack will join his fellow club mates Conor O Rourke and Jonathan Yates at the West Of Ireland at Rosses Point.
For now I hope you enjoy the improvement in the weather and the longer evenings, no excuses.....get out and play!
