Well done to all the ladies who completed their spring league last week. It was a well fought and well supported few weeks but eventually Team "Alison" comprising of Inez Cooper, Kathleen Moore, Helen Kavanagh and Bridie Griffen led by their team Captain Anne Downes were the winners. A competitive bunch of ladies who put in some great scores over the course of the spring league for a well deserved win. Well done also to team Sophie and Beatriz who finished second and third respectively. I'm sure that this exercise will pay off with some big performances from our ladies section over the summer months and I know that some good team practise is already taking place so we wish them our best this coming season!
This weekend we will be having a ball fitting morning thanks to our friends at Bridgestone golf. Bridgestone are as you all know becoming more and more popular on this side of the Atlantic. Players such as Matt Kuchar, Fred Couples, Paula Creamer and Brandt Snedeker all use the Bridgestone brand and their range covers golfers of every ability and requirement be it distance or advanced feel around the greens. Danny will be on hand beside the first tee to take ball speed readings, discuss product and explain more about the technology involved. Please contact us if you would like to reserve some time with him between 8.30am and 12pm this Saturday.
My good friend and official golf "nut" Adrian (sid) O Dwyer was on hand recently to try out the new i25 rescue clubs. He was looking for a rescue club that would hit the ball a little lower so I suggested that he be the first to put a dent in the new demos. Here's what he had to say:
"Gavin, When you asked me to try out the new ping i25 rescue I had no real intentions of buying a rescue. It was great to finally find a rescue that I really liked and something that played more like a long iron with an ideal penetrating trajectory rather than the ballooning effect of my current rescue. It was very beneficial to have had the opportunity to try out different lofts and shafts on the golf course before deciding on the 19 degree i25. Great club" Sid
Don't forget Rachael's putting class starting on the 29th March. Places are limited at this point but please feel free to contact either myself, Rachael or the pro shop to book your place or click here!
There is a feel of spring in the air these days and although it's a long way from reducing yourself to a short sleeved shirt, the evenings are getting longer and the fairways have a little more bounce in them. Make use of that stretch in daylight with a few putts after work or a quick 30 minutes at the range, it all pays off you know!
