Congratulations to Kate Holmes who won the Ladies Presidents Prize last week with a great score of 39 points. Kate as you know is a fine player and a worthy winner of the seasons first Major. Well done to our Lady President Joan who had a great day and evening and to all the prize winners!
Last week's Irish Open was a great success on every level. The tournament is well and truly reinstated as one of the premier events on the European Tour thanks to Rory McIlroy and all the Irish players who's status within the game have been a huge influence on many of the top players taking part. Having been on the inside of the ropes I can assure you that it was the toughest of tests with strong crosswinds and fluctuating temperatures making scoring very difficult. It demanded great shot making ability a great short game and plenty of patience.
It was extremely difficult to get within birdie range with anything less than a perfectly hit shot and therefore patience was key. Alas for Jack it wasn't to be as he missed the cut by one shot, but came away full of confidence and better for the experience. The players were as always very positive and helpful and much has been learned. I know he would like me to pass on his thanks for the huge support he received up there and it was great to see so many familiar faces in the crowd. Now it's back to one shot at a time and start all over again!
Is your short game letting you down? Would you like to learn how to turn 3 shots in to 2? Do bunkers cause you to tremble? Well my short game masterclass may have the answers you are looking for.
My next class is on Saturday, 20 June from 9am-12noon at the short game area and the cost is €60 p/p. Places are limited so please feel free to text or call me on 0868326676 to confirm your place.
