Congratulations to our Ladies Junior Cup and Finn Trophy teams who have both made it to their respective finals. The Finn team play against Wexford in Courtown on the 27, August and the Junior team play against Blackbush in Blackbush on the 30, August. I know that the girls have all put in great effort and time dedicated to their own game and the team and we wish them all the very best next week.  

Best of luck to Jonathan Yates, Conor O Rourke and Robert Brazil who have all made the matchplay stages at the Irish Close in Tramore this week. Well done also to Jack Hume who last week led Ireland to a great victory at the Home Internationals in Royal Portrush. Jack played no.1 for the week and won 2.5 from 3 points on the singles, a great achievement. 

Next week is our Annual Pro-Am and I am pleased to say we only have a few morning times available. If you cannot put in a team but would like to play please forward your name to either myself or to Denis and we can arrange for you to be paired up with some other members to make up a team. 

Next Saturday week is the first round of qualifying for our men's Captain's prize. I want to wish Gerry and everyone playing the very best of luck. We all know that the greens will be fast, the pins in tough places, the last three holes will play a huge roll in the final result and keeping it tidy from inside 6 feet will be important. 

Try to prepare yourself for all these scenarios, set some goals and jot down a plan for the two rounds. A goal without a strategy is only a dream!



Thank you to everyone who attended my Pitching class this week.... We focused on some very simple principals of pitching and had some fun learning! There were lots of questions and as a coach I feel that just knowing right from wrong when it comes to your technique can be enough to help you see improvement. 

Many golfers have the wrong concepts in their mind and once these are cleared up, it paves the way for progress. My next class is on Monday, 14 September from 6-7pm and I will be focusing on Driving and what you need to know to hit the ball further. I will be using my TrackMan to calculate how much further you are hitting the ball so the pressures on me!All you need to do is to bring your driver and a positive outlook!
