Although the clock change makes our time to play golf a little shorter, if you were in the habit of playing a few holes in the evening I would encourage you to keep up that habit by spending the same time or at least some of it at the range. Keeping your "hand in" as they say is really important over the winter if you want to play well next season and as well as being a good way to work on your game it gets you out for fresh air and away from the day to day stresses.
I was coaching a novice lady golfer recently and the lesson made me realise how often we all forget to enjoy the learning process. When we started playing we were gripped by the feel we get from that perfect strike or seeing the ball go close to the hole. We were excited about learning a new skill such as opening the clubface to play a bunker shot or holding the club a different way to make the ball change the way it behaves. Learning made it more fun and more exciting when we played.
Golf is something we do for fun but playing better is always more fun, so maybe the key to getting more from our time playing is to get back to learning a new shot or focusing on some part of the game we would really like to be better at and bring the "fun" back to the game!
